「決断力」から直感について考える

非常によい本を読んだ。「決断力」である。著者は羽生善治氏である。

羽生氏は言う。「直感の7割は正しい」と。強烈なメッセージである。

直感が7割正しい、とすると考えることや経験することは必要ないのではないか？という疑問が沸いてくる。

しかし羽生氏はこう続ける。

「直感力はそれまでにいろいろ経験し、培ってきたことが脳の無意識の領域に詰まっており、それが浮かび上がってくるものだ。まったく偶然に、何もないところからパッと思い浮かぶものではない。たくさんの対局をし『いい結果だった』『悪い結果だった』などの経験の積み重ねの中で、『こういうケースの場合は対応した方がいい』という無意識の流れに沿って浮かび上がってくるものだ。」

また、一方で「直感力の元になるのは感性である。（中略）　感性はどの部分がプラスに働くというのではなく、読書をしたり、音楽を聴いたり、将棋以外の人と会ったり、という様々な刺激によって総合的に研ぎ澄まされていくものだ。」とも言っている。

羽生氏がこう語る原点は、将棋の公式戦を千局以上行ってきて、勝利も敗北も経験してきた実戦からの実感値である。だからこそ、非常に説得力がある。

　

別途ご紹介したいが今読んでいる大前研一氏の「ザ・プロフェッショナル」にも、直感（同書では直観）について以下のような整理がされている。

「新たな出来事を目の前にした時、自分の直観だけが頼りとなるのです。長年にわたり人間の意思決定プロセスを研究してきたカーネギーメロン大学のハーバード・サイモンは『情報を保存することと、それをすぐに取り出せるよう情報を整理することを可能にしているのは経験である』と論じています。人間は経験を重ねることでパターン認識を体得し、これを無意識のうちに活用して直観を働かせています。」

ここでは、経験とパターン認識が大切である、と言っている。

　

羽生氏や大前氏の言葉を自分なりに解釈すると、鋭い直感を得るには、

　－「実戦経験」や「全く異質な体験」をより多く得ること
　－それをきっちりと振り返り、考え抜くこと

が大切であると捉えることができる。

ますます複雑化するビジネス社会において、この直感を得れるかどうかが成功のカギである。

　

今回は直感について考えてみたが、この「決断力」を題材にテーマを変えてもう少し書いていきたいと思う。
